In observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day and in partnership with POV— the acclaimed independent documentary series on PBS—join us for a workshop focusing on teaching World War II and the Holocaust through works of art. View the Academy award nominated short, Joe’s Violin, which chronicles the friendship between a Holocaust survivor and a middle school student in the Bronx who are brought together by a shared love of music. Examine Holocaust-related art in the Jewish Museum’s collection, including a charm bracelet created in Theresienstadt, and explore ways of using objects to teach about historical subjects.
$16 (light dinner will be served)
Special Education teachers and teachers in City Council District 7 represented by Councilmember Mark Levine may attend free of charge by calling 212.423.3270.
