$object_summary = 'For more than 2,500 years, Jewish brides have received written contracts (ketubbot) from their grooms.
This marriage contract\'s decoration was modeled on the work of Giovanni di Isidoro Baratta of Cararra (1670 - 1747), who designed the altar of the Livorno cathedral, as well as the Torah ark of that city\'s synagogue. That these mythological figures appear on a work of ceremonial art is a measure of Jewish acculturation to Italian life.
