F 3274 ' ; $object_summary = 'In the 13th century, a new type of Hanukkah lamp came into use. It was furnished with a back plate and hanging device, and could be hung on the wall. The use of open-work arabesque and arcades with arches is typical of Islamic architecture, on both secular and religious buildings such as synagogues and mosques. That influence is seen reflected here in this 19th century Islamic lamp.
