1991-106 ' ; $object_summary = 'A Hungarian-born Jew who studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar from 1920 until 1924, Gyula Pap combined his Jewish heritage with artistic experimentation in this candelabrum, exhibited in the famous Weimar Bauhaus exhibition in the summer of 1923. During the Second World War, one of four handmade examples of this piece, now in the Bauhaus-Archiv, Berlin, was altered, probably in an effort to make it look less like the Temple menorah.
