F 4382 ' ; $object_summary = 'This beaker, decorated with a representation of the interior of the Seitenstettengasse Synagogue in Vienna, is a product of the great revival of glass decoration during the Viennese Beidermeier period (1815-48). This "Judentempel" was the first public synagogue that Jews were permitted to build after their readmission to the capital late in the 17th century. Its stylish neoclassical interior was intended to attract the assimilating, modern Viennese Jew.
