She became Queen to King Ahasuerus, to whom she did not reveal that she was Jewish. When the king\'s prime minister Haman persuaded him to order the extermination of all the Jews in the empire, Mordecai advised Esther to intercede on behalf of her people. She was successful, and Haman was hanged in place of Mordecai. '; ?>
